Book 2 — Chapter 18 — The Works of Philo
Eusebius catalogues writings of Philo known to him: works on Bereshiyt, allegorical interpretation, the life of Mosheh, the Decalogue and specific Torah laws, providence, virtues, contemplation, and works connected with the crisis under Gaius. He especially values Philo as an educated Yehudi witness who wrote in Greek and could therefore be read throughout the empire. Some titles survive under different names or only in Armenian and fragments. The list is important for the history of Philo's corpus because Eusebius records works known in Caesarea and in Christian libraries of late antiquity.
