Book 3 — Chapter 9 - Yosephus and the Works He Left
Book III carries the narrative through the destruction of Yerushalayim, the post-apostolic successions, Domitian, Trajan, early writings, and Eusebius's catalogue of accepted and disputed texts. Eusebius leans heavily on Yosephus or inherited chronological records, preserving concrete reports while interpreting them through his own conviction that catastrophe and covenantal history were connected. Eusebius's library work is central here. He names books, quotations, disputed writings, teachers, and chains of reception, often preserving information about works that later disappeared. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 3, Chapter 9, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'Yosephus and the Works He Left'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
