Book 3 — Chapter 17 - The Persecution under Domitian
Book III carries the narrative through the destruction of Yerushalayim, the post-apostolic successions, Domitian, Trajan, early writings, and Eusebius's catalogue of accepted and disputed texts. The chapter records coercion under Roman or local authority: arrest, interrogation, confiscation, exile, torture, execution, or public pressure. Eusebius praises endurance but also records those who yielded, fled, or were later restored. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 3, Chapter 17, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'The Persecution under Domitian'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
