Book 6 — Chapter 30 - Students of Origen
Book VI is dominated by Origen and the intellectual life of Alexandria and Caesarea, then the persecutions under Severus, Maximinus, and Decius, with Dionysius of Alexandria becoming a principal witness. Eusebius's library work is central here. He names books, quotations, disputed writings, teachers, and chains of reception, often preserving information about works that later disappeared. Origen's biography is reconstructed from Eusebius's access to Caesarean archives, letters, pupils, and books. The narrative includes his family, teaching, textual scholarship, travels, controversies, ordination, and later suffering. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 6, Chapter 30, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'Students of Origen'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
