Book 6 — Chapter 43 - Novatus, His Conduct and His Separation
Book VI is dominated by Origen and the intellectual life of Alexandria and Caesarea, then the persecutions under Severus, Maximinus, and Decius, with Dionysius of Alexandria becoming a principal witness. Eusebius presents the movement polemically as deviation from the teaching he regards as received. HaSefarim preserves his accusation as Eusebius's report and keeps separate the historical fact that competing early communities often described one another through adversarial labels. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 6, Chapter 43, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'Novatus, His Conduct and His Separation'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
