Book 7 — Chapter 1 - The Wickedness of Decius and Gallus
Book VII follows Dionysius of Alexandria through disputes over washing converts, Valerian's persecution, Gallienus's peace, the Apocalypse debate, Paulos of Samosata, and the emergence of the Manichaean movement. The chapter advances Eusebius's chronological chain by identifying the people, writings, disputes, and public events that connect one generation of the assemblies to the next. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 7, Chapter 1, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'The Wickedness of Decius and Gallus'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
