1
The Adversary took the appearance of a king of the Persians and surrounded Iyov’s city.
2
He accused Iyov before the citizens, claiming that the ruler had hoarded the earth’s goods and destroyed the sanctuary of their great elohim.
3
He called the people to plunder Iyov’s remaining house.
4
The citizens feared Iyov’s sons and asked whether they might later avenge the attack.
5
The disguised Adversary promised that Iyov’s children also would be destroyed.
6
Thus the attack moved from property toward the household itself.
