1
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh after the death of the two sons of Aharon, when they drew near before Yahuah and died.
2
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Speak to Aharon your brother, that he not come at every time into the Holy Place within the veil, before the covering of atonement that is upon the ark, lest he die, for in the cloud I appear over the covering of atonement.
3
With this Aharon shall come into the Holy Place: with a young bull as a sin offering and a ram as an ascending offering.
4
He shall put on the holy linen tunic, and linen undergarments shall be upon his flesh, and he shall gird himself with the linen sash, and wrap himself with the linen turban. These are holy garments. And he shall wash his flesh in water and put them on.
5
And from the congregation of the sons of Yisra’el he shall take two male goats as a sin offering and one ram as an ascending offering.
6
And Aharon shall bring near the bull of the sin offering that is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.
7
And he shall take the two male goats and cause them to stand before Yahuah at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
8
And Aharon shall cast lots upon the two goats: one lot for Yahuah and one lot for Azazel.
9
And Aharon shall bring near the goat upon which the lot for Yahuah came up, and prepare it as a sin offering.
10
But the goat upon which the lot for Azazel came up shall be caused to stand alive before Yahuah, to make atonement over it, to send it away to Azazel into the wilderness.
11
And Aharon shall bring near the bull of the sin offering that is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house, and he shall slaughter the bull of the sin offering that is for himself.
12
And he shall take a firepan full of coals of fire from upon the altar before Yahuah, and his hands full of finely beaten fragrant incense, and bring it within the veil.
13
And he shall place the incense upon the fire before Yahuah, and the cloud of the incense shall cover the covering of atonement that is upon the Testimony, so that he does not die.
14
And he shall take from the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger upon the face of the covering of atonement toward the east; and before the covering of atonement he shall sprinkle from the blood with his finger seven times.
15
And he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering that is for the people, and bring its blood within the veil, and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it upon the covering of atonement and before the covering of atonement.
16
And he shall make atonement for the Holy Place because of the uncleannesses of the sons of Yisra’el and because of their transgressions, in all their sins. And so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.
17
And no Adam shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place until he comes out, and he shall make atonement for himself, and for his house, and for all the assembly of Yisra’el.
18
And he shall go out to the altar that is before Yahuah and make atonement upon it. And he shall take from the blood of the bull and from the blood of the goat and place it upon the horns of the altar all around.
19
And he shall sprinkle from the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it and set it apart from the uncleannesses of the sons of Yisra’el.
20
And when he has finished making atonement for the Holy Place, and for the Tent of Meeting, and for the altar, then he shall bring near the living goat.
21
And Aharon shall lay both his hands upon the head of the living goat and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Yisra’el, and all their transgressions, in all their sins, and place them upon the head of the goat, and send it away by the hand of an appointed ish into the wilderness.
22
And the goat shall bear upon itself all their iniquities to a land cut off, and he shall send the goat away into the wilderness.
23
And Aharon shall come into the Tent of Meeting and remove the linen garments that he put on when he entered the Holy Place, and he shall leave them there.
24
And he shall wash his flesh with water in a holy place and put on his garments, and come out and prepare his ascending offering and the ascending offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.
25
And the fat of the sin offering he shall burn upon the altar.
26
And the one who sent away the goat to Azazel shall wash his garments and wash his flesh in water, and afterward he may come into the camp.
27
And the bull of the sin offering and the goat of the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be brought outside the camp, and they shall burn their skins and their flesh and their dung with fire.
28
And the one who burns them shall wash his garments and wash his flesh in water, and afterward he may come into the camp.
29
And this shall be an everlasting statute for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your beings and do no work, the native and the sojourner who sojourns in your midst.
30
For on this day atonement shall be made for you, to cleanse you. From all your sins before Yahuah, you shall be clean.
31
It is a Shabbat of complete rest for you, and you shall afflict your beings. It is an everlasting statute.
32
And the kohen who is anointed and whose hand is filled to serve as kohen in place of his father shall make atonement, and he shall put on the linen garments, the holy garments.
33
And he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary, and for the Tent of Meeting, and for the altar he shall make atonement, and for the kohenim and for all the people of the assembly he shall make atonement.
34
And this shall be for you an everlasting statute, to make atonement for the sons of Yisra’el because of all their sins once in the year.” And he did according to what Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
