1
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying,
2
“Speak to Aharon and to his sons and to all the sons of Yisra’el, and say to them: ‘This is the matter that Yahuah has commanded, saying,
3
Any ish from the house of Yisra’el who slaughters an ox, or a lamb, or a goat in the camp, or who slaughters it outside the camp,
4
and does not bring it to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to bring near an offering to Yahuah before the Dwelling of Yahuah, bloodguilt shall be counted to that ish. He has shed blood, and that ish shall be cut off from the midst of his people.
5
This is so that the sons of Yisra’el may bring their sacrifices that they sacrifice upon the face of the field, that they may bring them to Yahuah, to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, to the kohen, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to Yahuah.
6
And the kohen shall throw the blood against the altar of Yahuah at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and burn the fat as a pleasing aroma to Yahuah.
7
And they shall no longer sacrifice their sacrifices to the goat-demons after whom they whore. This shall be an everlasting statute for them throughout their generations.’
8
And you shall say to them: ‘Any ish from the house of Yisra’el, or from the sojourners who sojourn in their midst, who brings up an ascending offering or a sacrifice,
9
and does not bring it to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to prepare it for Yahuah, that ish shall be cut off from his people.
10
And any ish from the house of Yisra’el, or from the sojourners who sojourn in their midst, who eats any blood—I will set My face against the being who eats the blood, and I will cut him off from the midst of his people.
11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your beings, for it is the blood, by the life, that makes atonement.
12
Therefore I said to the sons of Yisra’el, “No being among you shall eat blood, and the sojourner who sojourns in your midst shall not eat blood.”
13
And any ish from the sons of Yisra’el, or from the sojourners who sojourn in their midst, who hunts a wild beast or a bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust.
14
For the life of all flesh is its blood; its life is in it. Therefore I said to the sons of Yisra’el, “You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.”
15
And every being who eats what died by itself or what was torn by beasts, whether native or sojourner, shall wash his garments and wash himself in water, and shall be unclean until evening; then he shall be clean.
16
But if he does not wash them and does not wash his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.’”
